The Kannur municipality and the residents of
Chelora agitating against the waste dump continue to be on a collision course.
The action council spearheading the agitation
refuses to budge, even after a meeting convened by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy
at the capital city to end the standoff.
The action council has declined to accept the
government’s plea to give it six months’ time to solve the garbage disposal
issue in the State
